We are always actively seeking like minded men to become involved with the group. The first, best, and easiest way to become involved is to attend one of our functions and introduce yourself. See our list of upcoming events in Washington DC. You may want to e-mail the DC chapter and let us know you are coming so we can look for you. You can also join the DC chapter mailing list to be notified of our upcoming events.

Membership depends on getting to know the brothers and sharing the philosophies of the brotherhood. New members must apply and be voted in by the Full Members. Getting to know and building relationships among the brothers is essential. There are different levels of membership within Men of Discipline:

Associates
Men who want to be affiliated with MOD and may attend our public and some of our private functions. Associates pay reduced membership dues and have the right to wear the Associate Uniform. Associates do not have a vote on club issues or direction.

Recruits
Men who want to become Full Members of MOD. Recruits undergo a Recruit Formation which culminates in an Initiation ceremony. Recruits make a commitment to attend most MOD events during their recruit period. They are assigned a Drill Instructor, who is their mentor throughout their formation. Requirements include:

  • educational classes in BDSM technique and safety
  • personal goal setting and achievement
(includes a physical goal, emotional goal, career goal, and BDSM goal)
  • service to the fraternity and/or community (a project benefitting the fraternity and/or public service activity)
  • following the Recruit Discipline at club functions
  • presenting a demonstration on a BDSM activity
  • passing an exam on BDSM technique and safety

Being a Recruit is an intense and worthwhile experience you'll never forget. A Recruit learns a lot about himself and really builds the friendships and the foundation of Brotherhood that the fraternity is all about.

Full Members
Full Members of the MOD have been through the Recruit Formation and passed the Initiation. Full Members may attend all events, have full voting rights, and make a commitment toward the club's responsibilities. Full Members and Fraternal Members are the only persons permitted to wear the Uniform.

Fraternal Members
Fraternal Members are former Full Members who choose to be affiliated with the organization but no longer have the time to commit to full membership. Fraternal Members do not need to attend the business meetings nor do they have voting rights, but they retain the privilege of wearing the uniform and may attend all MOD functions.

To become an Associate or Recruit (and eventually a Full Member) of MOD, you must have the sponsorship of one of the Full Members.
